Privacy Policy

Privacy matters to me, both as a professional and as an individual. Data retention is often treated as an asset, when it should be treated like a liability instead. I focus on short-term analysis for attack prevention and the bare minimum needed for tax purposes.

What is gathered?

Website Data

This website gathers very little data; just enough to detect and address errors and abuse. This generally means your:

• IP address
• Browser User Agent
• Referer
• Request String

The server keeps logs for 7 days (for pattern recognition) and deletes them afterwards. There is no backup of server logs.

This website does not track you, and thus does not set any cookies.

Commission Data

During the course of a commission's fulfillment, I may acquire additional data connected to the sale. This may include:

• Username
• Purchase method (and associated display name or avatar)
• Real Life name (sometimes revealed through payment method)
• The commission concept

I take efforts to curb any sharing of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and reduce it to the bare minimum needed for business. Ideally, this is just a username on a platform, some payment method to receive payment from, and the concept you're looking to bring to life.

Why is data gathered?

• Your username is how I refer to you as a customer,
• I am required to report my income for tax purposes,
• Your purchase method is needed to facilitate the transaction,
• Sometimes your name is attached to that method, and
• I need to know your ideas in order to make them happen.

How long is data retained?

Commission metadata (including purchase order numbers, client names or usernames, order details, and amounts) is retained for business accountability needs, generally a year before archival. Customer data (emotes, layouts, other assets) is guaranteed available for 90 days after purchase. After that point, I may delete projects at my discretion to free up space.

Who is my data shared with?

This website does not share any data with third parties by default. Business data is held entirely on-site, under my full control. Just a guy and a server.

To facilitate commissions through Ko-Fi, some information is needed. This is governed by Ko-Fi's Privacy Policy and I cannot control the flow of that particular information.

How do I get my data?

Reach out to me via the original contact method within 90 days after purchase, and I'll furnish you another copy of whatever I have! No guarantees are made for any customer data after that point.

Customer Data consists of:

• the same receipt and assets that you originally paid for
• the row in my transaction spreadsheet connected to the sale

It's pretty boring! No profiles, no analytics, no data-brokering.
